FOX NYDAILY NEWS These links show two binary POV's from the political spectrum, both a conservative and a liberal take on President Obama's recent remarks regarding the Kanye West controversy at this years VMAs. Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift as she was accepting her VMA award for Best Female Video and claimed that Beyonce Knowles had the best video of all time..ironically enough, she ended up winning the Best Video of the Year later in the show. President Obama was then quoted calling Kanye a "jackass" in an interview with CNBC.
I found it interesting to compare both of these articles..the first sentence alone, says more than enough:
FOX reports: "President Barack Obama called hip-hop musician Kanye West a "jackass" on Monday in an off-the-record comment during an interview with CNBC, an ABC News anchor reported on Twitter."
NYDAILY reports: "When it comes to Kanye West, it seems that President Obama is thinking what the rest of the country is thinking."

yeah we had talked about Obama's comments in one of my classes and my teacher asked if his comments were inappropriate. and i dont think they were at all. just because he is our president doesn't mean he cant think what everyone else in America is thinking. it wasn't like he was making a press conference. ok then it would be wrong. but it was an off the record comment even though nothing is off the record with all these mediums like twitter and facebook. i have more respect for Obama now!
ReplyDeleteObama is just saying what is true!! Kanye West is shouldnt have dissed Taylor Swift like that!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you put this in your blog, I am awful in the sense that I don't pay enough attention to the news. It's true, Obama can have his own opinions and it's so funny that Fox said it was an off-the-record comment, yet here they are publishing it. Kanye was a douche for what he did, and it really made no sense because he could have just bitched about it later. haha. NYDaily was definatly a little more tasteful in their reporting than FOX was.
ReplyDeleteI have absolutely no problem with what Obama said, hey its the truth. What makes me mad is the fact that his comments were supposed to be private and off the record. I feel bad because I know there are people out there who think that his use of "jackass" was undignified, but its a moot point because his words should never have reached the light of day. There was an agreement that his comments would remain off the record, yet somebody went against their word and publish them because it was "juicy". It's shameful.
